David Goudge
Managing Director

David started his career on ‘client side’ and left his mark on leading brands including Coca-Cola & Tango at blue-chip businesses including Beecham and Britvic.

He has been a prominent figure in the innovation industry for over 35 years – initially with the second-wave consultancy Innovate and latterly as founder of Brand Development.

David is a passionate advocate for the role of insight and creativity in innovation. He wholeheartedly adopted the principles of disruption and agility – and has never looked back.

He can only be described as a workaholic and has personally led projects for Mars, PepsiCo, Unilever – but his greatest pride is that their alumni have continued to entrust Brand Development with their growth projects as they move from company, to company, to company.

Outside the business David’s passions are his family, his home, his friends, reading, fitness, travel, jazz, cocktails, archaeology and warm-water diving.

David is a true architect of insight and an absolute pleasure to work with.  A safe pair of hands in an industry of “we can do it too now” innovation agencies.

Joanna King

Joanna started her career on ‘client side’ and left her mark on leading brands at blue-chip businesses including Glaxo & Heinz.

She has been a key member of the Brand Development leadership team for the last 20 years.

Jo is possibly one of the most focused, analytical and strategic minds alive. She has an unerring ability to cut through the noise and distractions of a challenge – and discern an appropriate and actionable solution.

She’s the embodiment of the adage “If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it.” (attributed to Lucille Ball)…

Outside the business her passions include her family, running and encouraging everyone to take more care of the environment.
